As confirmed by HokieHaven.com Woody Baron made his decision to commit to Tech after Saturday's one day camp. According to his highlight film Baron is 6-3 260, runs a 4.72 40 and was a finalist for Tenesse Mr. Football. Baron held offers from Arizona State, Louisville and Vanderbilt among others. His decision came down to Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt.
Brentwood Academy defensive lineman Woody Baron said he'll likely stay close to home and play for Vanderbilt, or follow his uncle ā former Nashville Kats star James Baron ā and play at Virginia Tech.
"I'd like to make a decision before the season starts, but I'm not sure," said the younger Baron, a Division II-AA Mr. Football Lineman finalist as a junior. "Virginia Tech would have a little of an advantage, but not a lot. I think I'd enjoy the opportunity to play at home. That would be one of the pros of playing at Vanderbilt. And Iām pretty close with my 'boys'."

"They've got a brand-new coaching staff," Baron said. "I'd like to see what they're going to do."
