The most compelling storyline again this spring is who will emerge as Virginia Tech's top quarterback. A ancillary narrative by comparison, Andrew Motuapuaka and Tremaine Edmunds began spring as the only inside linebackers with experience at their positions. Their backups, Tavante Beckett and Anthony Shegog, made their debuts at mike and backer, respectively. Would depth at LB be an issue.

Throughout Virginia Tech's spring game, all eyes were on the quarterback competition between Josh Jackson, A.J. Bush, and Hendon Hooker. The buzz on the way out of Lane Stadium centered on Hooker's productivity and cool demeanor in the pocket when he worked with both Tech's second- and first-group offense.
