I decided to wash some dishes at halftime of the Virginia Tech basketball team's game against Virginia in Charlottesville. And while washing said dishes, I cut my finger with a knife (asking for new, sharp knives as a wedding present was bound to come back to haunt me at some point.)
It wasn't one of those quick cuts that you hardly notice until you look down. Nope, I could feel each serration slowly snag its way through the skin on my finger, making a deep, painful slice that I knew wouldn't go away quickly.
Why do I bring that up?
Because it was the best part of my night.
The Hokies went into John Paul Jones Arena and were promptly shoved into a cannon and shot out of the building.
