Ladies and gentlemen the state of the Hokie basketball program is fundamentally strong. I understand that is a hard idea for some to embrace after the last two games. The past two games have been really disappointing, from personal experience I've had clouded judgement a few times which resulted in disappointment, but don't let the last two games cloud your judgement of the Hokies basketball program.

The Hokies open with Appalachian State at home. If they lose that game, I will eat every turkey leg in Lane Stadium before jumping from the top of it proclaiming I was wrong on my way down.

Editor's Note: The perfect segue from this morning's post.
This year more than ever, I got into the nitty-gritty of following VT recruiting, spending entirely too much time concerned over the decision-making process of 17 and 18 year old strangers. I definitely picked the wrong year to take it so seriously. No reason to stop now.
Here's a list of the early top-25 players for the state of Virginia:
What are your thoughts? Who do we need a most? Who do we have no shot at?
Editor Note: This is bumped because it's an insightful fantastic piece. Also, on National Signing Day Hokies asked, "Why not Virginia Tech?"

Virginia Tech athletic director Jim Weaver said Monday that reserve forward Jarell Eddie, who was charged with marijuana possession last week, is cleared to play tonight at Wake Forest.
Eddie did not play in Saturday's loss at Virginia. Coach Seth Greenberg said both Saturday and Sunday that it was a "coach's decision," and did not use the word "suspension."
But Weaver said Greenberg told him Monday that Greenberg did indeed give Eddie a one-game suspension for the UVa game.
"Until this thing plays out, nothing else will be done," Weaver said. "I would assume that he would play [tonight]; that's Seth's decision. ... We suspended him already for a game.
"We have taken appropriate action to this point in time."
