In today's VT News, there's an announcement about VT's "Vaccination Dashboard". In the first two sentences (below), they're using in-person classes and football to encourage the campus community to upload their vaccination data. The dashboard shows 25.2% of students and 27.9% of employees as vaccinated as of 7/1/2021.
In-person classes. Crowds at Lane Stadium. Campus events. These activities can happen only if the majority of Virginia Tech students and employees are vaccinated for COVID-19. As the fall semester inches closer, the university is making progress. But it isn't there yet.
Mike Mulhare, VT AVP of Emergency Management:
To operate in a near normal environment, our employee and student vaccination percentages need to significantly improve.
My concern (during the upload process) was that there was no explanation of who was receiving the data, how it would be used, how long it would be stored, who would have access, etc. That said, I uploaded it anyway because I do love working here...
