I live in the heart of SEC country and am hearing my all my SEC coworkers and friends on a daily basis. It's quite obvious that if VT were a SEC team, Beamer would be gone at the end of season. A lot of people in the SEC thinks he should have retired a few years ago. What does everyone have to say on this issue. At this point, VT is just playing for Bowl eligibility. Either way, this season is not going the way anyone envisioned. Have much time has Beamer bought for the program he built?
And here's the follow up questions. Who would replace him? Is there a big name coach VT can go and get and paid the necessary $$$. Or does Bud get his shot? Is he fit to be a HC? At the very least, changes on the offensive side need to be made, that much is blatantly clear. Who replaces Stinespring and O'Cain? Will a new OC need more money than Bud Foster is being paid?
I hear everyone stating our problems, but what's the solution. Who replaces the people you want to see go? And let's be realistic about this. VT doesn't have the money to hire Nick Saban.
