We have members from all over Virginia and beyond here on The Key Play. This is a unique community that can grown with Hokiesports being the glue. The Pie vs Cake debate has been legendary, but the food world surface has barely been scratched.
One of the biggest questions that I have wherever I travel is "where can I find a great burger?" With the proliferation of excellent gastropups serving burders with everything from lobster to ramen, that can be a really tough question. The purpose of this thread is to serve as repository of great burger recommendations. Here are mine:
Northern Virginia:
Fairfax County and Arlington have spectacular food options in many categories, but I have struggled to find a special burger. Rays Hellburger came highly recommended, but disappointed me. Ted's Montana Grill does a very nice bison burger. My favorite so far has been Rustico in Ballston. The burger is spectacular, but the service (unless you place a significant beer order) is subpar. I am looking for an alternative and I welcome your suggestions. I have heard good things about the Gypsy Burger at Gypsy Soul in Merrifield, but I have not been there.
Richmond:
Burger Bach in Carytown (next to Elwood Thompsons)- It's absolute money.
Fast Food:
If you are in Southwest Virginia or Northeast Tennessee and you don't order a Big Pal, a Frenchie Fry, and a Pals Sweet Tea, something is clinically wrong with you.
