Quincy Patterson makes it two quarterbacks for the Hokies so far this recruiting cycle. The 6-4, 232 pound Solorio Academy (Chicago, IL) product joins DeJuan Ellis as QB commits in Virginia Tech's 2018 class.

The 247Sports Composite rates Patterson a 3-star recruit and he verbally committed to Tech over the Tar Heels and Cavaliers among other Power Five offers.
The Windy City prospect visited Blacksburg on February 17 for a more intimate look at Virginia Tech the day prior to its junior day. The same east coast jaunt included stops at Virginia and North Carolina.
"We actually watched film of games and practices, and he showed me how they read certain coverages," Patterson said. "(Brad Cornelsen) was emphasizing the fact that I'd fit in the offense perfectly and that it wouldn't even be much of an adjustment for me to do the same because I'm already a quarterback that fits that system."
