I'm watching the VT-GT game from last year and I'm noticing something on GT's punts. They lined up with more than 2 gunners a lot. And not just with one guy in the slot, sometimes they stacked two on one side, other times it looked more like a 3 wideout set.
I think the most important part of this is that by putting three gunners out there they leave what looks to me like a much smaller distance from the edge rusher and the punter.
Here's an example of the stacked gunners:
I don't know that I've ever seen GT fake a punt against us so I'm not really sure why they do that. Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that Kyle got off the ball really well last week (albeit unblocked, but he still came off fast) and Frank has shown a tendency this year to go for the blocks much more than he has in previous years. At least from what I've noticed, Frank has been going all out for a lot of punts since the start of the season.
If that continues then don't be surprised if that resurgence of Beamer Ball we saw on Saturday keeps its momentum going on Thursday.
