Hey Gang! I'm looking forward to visiting with you right here on TKP today at noon. It should be a lot of fun and even if it's not, it's only an hour right? I mean, how bad can one-hour be?
We all sat through the 2012 Russell Athletic Bowl, and that game took at least 4 hours. Maybe it was 5. That was the night where the Hokies rushed the ball 32 times for a grand total of one yard. (To make that statistic sound better on the broadcast, I mentioned that we actually rushed for three feet. Impressive, eh?) For those who don't recall, Tech had one-yard rushing, five fumbles, committed 14 penalties ... and won in overtime. God Bless Rutgers.
I promise this AMA will be better than the 2012 Russell Athletic Bowl. While that may be somewhat of a low bar, with your help, we can do it.
Hopefully, we can talk about our new Sports Media & Analytics Program at Virginia Tech. This semester, we have over 100 students taking these classes, and in the Spring 2018, that number will hit 120. I think these kids are learning a lot about sports media, journalism and broadcasting. I know they're teaching me about a lot of cool stuff too ... like why Avocado Toast is great, and insightful millennial phrases like "Deuce" and "Sipping Tea."
