Six Pick Week 11

Week 11 and it starts off with a double barrel barrage on Thursday. This might be the best Thursday night of games on paper ever. Two top 10 matchups that will define the march to Pasadena, though no in the SEC cares. Personally, Can't wait ... CAN'T WAIT.

Is this the Stanford student section or remake of Revenge of the nerds? Be careful how you answer this, you'll either be working for them in a few years or they will be collecting all your personal info with their hot new, social media startup. Either way, they are totally pulling a Georgia Tech and studying during the game, #amirite.

Thursday, November 7th
(10) Oklahoma at (6) Baylor -14.5 ~~ 7:30 pm FS1

• Baylor welcome to BCS level football, it's been about 11 months since you've faced a worthy opponent ... it won't matter
• I'm not going to say the Sooners can't win, but they are woefully inconsistent and playing a road Thursday night game vs a better team ... good luck with that

Pick: Baylor minus errything. Can't stop, won't stop until Art Briles is the big whistle in Austin.

(3) Oregon -10.5 at (5) Stanford ~~ 9:00 pm ESPN

• This is the best game of the week and we have to suffer through the two headed commentator monster of Jesse Palmer and David Pollack for it. Drink every time Jesse says something dumb or David bros out
• If Oregon wins, here pssst, they aren't losing until they faceoff vs Alabama in the BCSCG ... watching reactions of FSU fans on twitter Thursday is gonna be gold

Pick: Ducks minus errything too. It took a perfect game by Stanford to barely beat Oregon last season, this Ducks team is better, while the Cardinal is worse.

Saturday, November 9th
Penn State at Minnesota -2.5 ~~ 12:00 pm ESPN2

• << Insert PSU/B1G Ten noon (11 am their time) kickoff joke here >> ... then realize VT is B1G Ten in spirit and game time. I haz sadz
• Minnesota is 7-2 and bowl eligible ... who knew? Likely no one reading this cares, but good for the Gophers. Rock out Goldy, enjoy some 6 Pick love, plus I'm tired of having UCLA games on the list

Pick: Minnesota laying the points. Statistically, the Minnesota offense is the worst unit, by far on the field, but I'm throwing reason out the door.

BYU at (24) Wisconsin -7.5 ~~ 3:30 pm ESPN

• Wisconsin is criminally underrated at 24, which probably has to do with the b.s. loss at Arizona State. This is a good football team
• BYU, you lost to uva ... yes, the hoo team that's only other win is VMI ... turn in your special underwear

Pick: Wisconsin getting the points and putting away a pretty decent BYU team by a couple of scores

Virginia Tech at (11) Miami -6.5 ~~ 7:00 pm ESPN

• The VT offense, for all it's better design is worse than the O'Cainspring version of 2012. I'll hear no excuses, nut up time
• Hey, it's a night game for the Canes, they could double their attendance to about four to five thousand with most of those coming from Dadi and Maddys crew

Pick: Miami and the points. I don't like saying this, but I'm sensing this team is pulling apart, not coming together. The offense has to put in work or the defense will break.

(13) LSU at (1) Alabama -12.5 ~~ 8:00 pm CBS

• The assimilation of the 2013 Alabama team is almost complete. It took a few more games than usual, but Nick Saban has them thinking as a hive-mind once again. Resistance is Futile
• I'd talk about Les Miles, but it would pale in comparison to Les Miles own words ...... most of this drivel doesnt make any sense, but Id still follow this man to hell for battle

Pick: LSU getting the points, keeping it around a 10 points loss.

Beer of the Week:
Smartmouth Brewing Company

Smarthmouth in Norfolk is celebrating their 1 year anniversary and what a great year this has been for the upstart brewery. Their Imperial IPA, The Notch 9 received a Great American Beer Festival Bronze medal in that category for 2013. They gonna pour a lot of those for me, since Ill need to be sauced up before watching the Miami game. Cheers!
