Gouveia-Winslow Done for the Year, Injuries Mounting

Virginia Tech starting outside linebacker Jeron Gouveia-Winslow suffered a Lisfranc sprain in his left foot in last Saturday's win over Miami. The sprain was confirmed Thursday after the MRI was read and the redshirt junior will miss the rest of the season. He will undergo surgery next week at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg.

He will be replaced by Alonzo Tweedy in the starting lineup with Nick Dew backing Tweedy up.

HokieSports.com confirms what we already knew, G-W will miss the rest of the season. G-W is the third defensive starter out for the year. It's even more imperative the offense score points every time we have the ball, to allow an all-of-a-sudden inexperienced and small defense time to develop.
