Hokie Help

Most of you on here are too young to remember the mid-90's Hokie football and individuals from those teams. This story is about little baby Ava, daughter of AnnMarie and George Delricco. George was an All Big East linebacker with Tech in 1995. He and Druckenmiller were thick as thieves around Blacksburg, and even Ocean City. (There were several nights that we closed down bars in OC together.) His wife and daughter were in OC just before Christmas when they were rear-ended by a guy high on PCP. Doing 100 on Coastal Highway is no easy feat, and the vehicles look like paper balls. Little baby Ava has been in the PICU at Hopkins since, over a month now. From first hand experience, I can tell you it's not a fun place to be. Take a minute to help out and donate. Great cause, great guy, and this should never happen to a 19 month old.

Welcome to the DelRicco Benefit Fund. On December 16th, Ann Marie DelRicco and her 18th month old daughter, Ava were stopped at a red light on 142 St., in Ocean City, MD. A car driving at a high rate of speed rear ended them sending their car 100 feet. The driver of that car was high on PCP. Ann Marie and Ava were stuck in the car and had to be cut out. A Maryland State Police helicopter flew the Ava to a Maryland shock trauma center and she remains in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

We are happy to report that Ann Marie is doing well, but still recovering from her injuries.

The DelRicco's have not asked for anything except for prayers, especially for Ava as her recovery is going to be difficult (Since Ava is a DelRicco, there is no doubt that she will fight to recover with every ounce of strength she has).

Despite the fact that George is not asking for anything from anyone, the family is looking at a very tough road ahead. George will not be able to work as he has to relocate to Baltimore to be close to Ava as she recovers. We have set up a fund where supporters of the DelRicco’s can donate a little something to help ease their burden through this difficult time. Obviously there is no obligation for anyone, but since a lot of people were asking what they could do, this is something that could absolutely help them out.

Donations can be made through PayPal using the address: DelriccoBenefitFund@gmail.com or HelpBabyAva@gmail.com

Donations are also being accepted by any PNC Bank (SUPPORTING BABY AVA ACCOUNT) or George DelRicco c/o Ron Delricco at 8108 Croom Station Road, Upper Marlboro, Md 20772.

Please keep George, Ann Marie, Mark, Sage and Ava in your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely & with gratitude,
Friends of George & Ann Marie
