Hokie Wrestling: Making Big Offseason Moves!

Good Morning Hokie Fans!

Out of sight, Virginia Tech's wrestling program has been making staff additions to turn the perennial top 10 program into a national championship contender. This week Kevin Dresser confirmed the hiring of 2 huge new coaches. Mike Zadick, former US olympian, will join the program as an assistant head coach. And 4x NCAA All American Derek St. John will assume the role of Director of Wrestling Operations. Both will also have affiliate roles at the Southeast RTC, an olympic training center in blacksburg.

For those who dont know, the Southeast RTC is a nonprofit 501c3 that works with USA wrestling to develop american wrestling talent. Its a major wrestling training center and a highly functional and well staffed RTC is critical for NCAA success. I know many on here share dreams and frustrations with the lack of a national championship in any NCAA Div 1 sports. Along with Women's Soccer and the T&F programs, the wrestling team is the closest in my opinion to realizing that goal. This matches the teams motto this year "Raising The Bar". Should you need to make a charitable donation now or in the future, consider donating to the RTC. Link provided below.

There's a lot happening with the program still (a 3rd unofficial hire seems to be confirmed, announcement imminent). I'm happy to talk turkey with anyone. I will also post the last 2 email blasts from dresser himself below.

Go Hokies!
