Hi everyone. If you are in the Philadelphia area, we can certainly use your help. The VT Philadelphia Alumni Chapter has been volunteering at the Broad Street Run for many years now. And I'm one of the water station captains as well. This year, we will be at the Gerry Street water station down near the sports complex. Broad Street is one of the largest 10 mile races in the world. In addition to being a fun run, it helps support the American Cancer Society, American Association for Cancer Research, Students Run Philly Style, Back on my Feet and Fairmount Park Conservancy

Finally, and on my/the VT Philly Chapter's selfish note, if we reach a critical number of volunteers as a team, we will get a $20 stipend per person for the chapter scholarship fund. Last year was a really lousy turn out and we did not qualify. Which is pretty disappointing since you only need something like 8 or 10 people to qualify.
We set up tables, fill cups with water or sports drink, hand the cups out to runners, cheer them on and then help clean up at the end. You do need to get up early to be there at 6 AM, but we are done before noon.
If anyone is interested, please let me know and I can provide more information or get you signed up
