Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported the news of Asante's departure. Asante played just 43 snaps at receiver in 2012, and had two receptions for 18 yards. Asante wasn't a proven commodity, but was one of a few receivers expected to compete for significant playing time this fall.
In related news, LT3 mentioning Charley Meyer's roll in the offense at ACC Media Days makes more sense now.
