Welcome back to "By the (Advanced) Numbers", my weekly statistical Virginia Tech football preview where I analyze specific statistics and assign probabilities to Hokie football, without bias.

The same column structure, poor attempts at humor, and extremely (in)accurate final score predictions continue this season. New content will include a different graph structure and some (hopefully) improved visualizations. Please help me out with any feedback in the comments and enjoy the numbers!

After a loss to West Virginia, in which the Hokies' red zone offense did nothing to inspire a return of 'Stick It In', the team came out with a lackluster showing against FCS Richmond. Fortunately they have a chance to get their feet under them after an off week as they face...let's see...Notre Dame?! FFS.

If you were hoping for Virginia Tech to put up another 6-8 win season, you are in luck my friend. It's already looking like the Hokies will probably be bowl eligible, but also probably not a ranked team. Here we go again...
